Beach Loveland has had a long time love of coffee and in building community around coffee. He has been working in the specialty coffee industry for over 15 years and service industry for over 20 years. Beach, along with his wife, Jessica, have had a vision of bringing the community together through their love of coffee and guidance of the Lord. The dream began with Beach becoming a barista and managing a coffee house in a near by town. The ultimate goal was to open a storefront in Irmo, South Carolina.
Perspective shifted slightly when the opportunity to open a drive-thru kiosk came their way. The Loveland’s launched and funded a very successful Kickstarter campaign with huge support from their local community. The Loveland Coffee drive-thru kiosk opened in December 2012 with a passion to provide quality coffee and top notch consumer service.
In the summer of 2016, Beach launched his own roastery, where he roasts small batched, single origin, certified fair trade organic coffee. Then in 2017 Beach traveled to San Francisco, CA to study at Boot Coffee Campus for SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) Roasting Certifications. Over a month of Classes and hands on course work resulted in prestigious SCA Certified Roastmaster designation.
In late 2019, the Loveland’s were able to find the perfect location to house their roasting facility and build out the largest Café in the Columbia area. After months of hard work and construction Loveland Coffee opened their dream Café & Roastery in Irmo in the winter of 2020.

Over the years, Loveland has also partnered with numerous regional entrepreneurs for some cross industry collaborations, pushing the level of where coffee is headed, resulting in some wild experiments.

Our passion for coffee begins with seeking out the highest quality and the most socially responsible beans available. Then, through roasting in small batches, Loveland controls the different desired profiles of each roast, bringing out the best flavor nuances of each regional coffee. This is topped off by brewing the perfect cup and then educating Loveland customers regarding their products and processes. Thus, making sure the quality and amazing coffee experience can be followed from start to finish. Loveland Coffee anticipates and tracks creative new coffee trends and developments. There are always some exciting things brewing in Beach’s creative mind, bringing the cutting edge to Columbia. We seek to have something for everyone.
Loveland’s culture has grown to embody community around coffee and relationships. Despite currently only having a public drive-thru location, the community has rallied around Loveland and fellow customers.Customers are often looking for ways to give back and bless others, from spontaneous pay it forwards, to showing appreciation by providing for first responders and military. Our fans are hardcore and we are beyond thankful for that! Everybody needs a little love in their coffee and we want you to Love what you drink!
Our customers are the “heartbeat” of why we LOVE our job. We’re grateful for the support over the past 10 years. Our customer support allowed us to thrive in our original location, the kiosk, and then our roastery and now our location on Carlisle Street! It’s incredible to watch our customers come together every day to share a cup of coffee and conversation. Cheers to many more years.
